After having her son at age 17, Amanda was mentally and emotionally spent.
Feeling like she had to get out, Amanda opened the door and stepped out into the snow. All she had with her was her son’s diaper bag, a t-shirt, and some light pants.
With the help of her school, Amanda reached out to Olive Crest and was connected to a host family when she needed it most.
“When I came here, I felt accepted. I could transform.” – Amanda
In a stable and encouraging environment, Amanda began to learn how to be independent. She finished school and got a job at an elementary school. Six months after she moved in with her host family, Amanda found an apartment for her and her son, where they are living today. The future is bright for this family!
The kind of life-transforming impact that Amanda and her son experienced is only possible through the generosity of our passionate community.
