BREAKING THE CYCLE OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT IN SOUTHERN NEVADA
These are extremely difficult times for families in Southern Nevada. Families are facing mounting challenges—including economic instability, housing insecurity, mental health strain, and isolation—that place them at heightened risk for abuse and neglect. In 2024 alone, Clark County received over 30,000 child abuse and neglect reports, reflecting a crisis that continues to grow. At the same time, more than 300 teens and young adults aging out of the child welfare system are at high risk of homelessness, substance use, trafficking, and incarceration, and they lack the support needed to launch successfully into adulthood.

Since 1997, Olive Crest has provided life-changing services for children and families in crisis throughout Clark County. Our systemic approach addresses root causes to prevent child abuse and neglect and to keep families together. These programs meet physical and emotional needs and equip parents to build strong, stable families, where children are safe and thriving.
At Olive Crest, we employ a holistic three pathway approach, with each pathway layered with mental/behavioral health services and awareness to ensure continuity of care, as we strive to end child abuse and neglect. From poverty and housing instability to trauma and isolation, we catalyze the journey to healing and empowerment for those we serve.
- Strengthening Families
In-home visits, crisis support, tangible needs assistance, and education to build strong families, so children do not need to be placed in the child welfare system, and families stay intact. - Providing Safe & Loving Homes
Systemic support, mental health services, and necessary resources for foster families to thrive so that children in their care can grow and heal as they await reunification. - Equipping for Life
Independent living program to equip teens and young adults for life who have aged out of the child welfare system so they have the tools and resources they need to launch into adulthood. This pathway provides housing, mental health services, mentorship, care coordination, life skills, and more. Each aspect of this experience is tailored to each participant to help them create the future they want.
OUR SOLUTION REQUIRES AN $25 MILLION INVESTMENT
To meet the great needs of our community, Olive Crest proposes campuses with Children & Family Resource Centers (CFRCs) and housing for teens and young adults participating in our Equipping for Life pathway. These families need support to ensure safe, abuse-free lives for their children. Young adults aging out of the child welfare system need help launching into independence. Your support powers three critical initiatives:
1. NORTH CAMPUS
Our new North Campus will offer 16 apartments that will help 30 young adults launch into stable, independent lives – doubling our current impact. We will also offer on-site support such as mental wellness services, mentorship, life skills training, and educational support for program participants.
Additionally, this campus will be home to a new CFRC where we will have therapeutic spaces for children and families, visitation rooms, a teaching kitchen, training rooms, and more. An exciting feature of this campus will be our ability to enhance accessibility to our community partners by offering flexible, on-site spaces that support their services and foster deeper engagement.
This campus will be the anchor of our operations and will have the ability to serve at least 10,000 individuals annually.

2. Children and Family Resource Center RENOVATION
We’re transforming a 10,000-square-foot space into a hub for healing and support. This renovated CFRC will offer mental health services, parenting support, and emergency resources—reaching a potential of 10,000 or more individuals each year. A place where families in crisis will find connection, care, and HOPE!

3. Mental & Behavioral Health and Occupational Therapy
To break the cycle of abuse and neglect, families need more than shelter—they need healing. We’re expanding access to mental/behavioral health care and adding occupational therapy to help children and parents recover from trauma and build resilience. These services will enhance our Continuum of Care and truly break generational cycles of abuse and neglect.

FUNDING THE CAMPAIGN
A $25 million comprehensive campaign has been initiated to fund the expansion and building of these important resources, continuing and deepening our programs and services, and the creation of a $5 million endowment fund.
