Here in Orange County, our specialized areas of foster care are:

Emergency Care
There are also opportunities to provide immediate care for children who have been detained by Social Services. Care is provided until it is determined whether or not the child will remain a dependent of the court or whether there are family members available to care for the child.

Standard Foster Care
Traditional foster parents are available to care for children who are dependents of the court. While the child is in foster care, the birth parents are given a plan for reunification by the court system. The child will be reunified with his or her parents if the court deems it appropriate and safe.

Intensive Services Foster Care
ISFC parents require a unique passion for children and youth with a history of severe trauma. This level of intense care allows a child or youth to receive emotional nourishment. Along with prior experience, ISFC families are required to attend additional trainings. Additional in-home services are provided by an Olive Crest Support Counselor, and substantial financial reimbursement is also provided.

Foster to Adopt
We help facilitate adoption services for foster families wishing to provide a forever home to foster children in their care, and who won’t be able to reunite with biological parents.

Medically Fragile Foster Care
Every day medically fragile children are born or enter into the dependency system. The medical needs of these children are ranging and these fragile children need specialized care to help them be nurtured toward optimal health, both physically and cognitively. Training and support is offered to families to help them serve these deserving children.
