Fund Development/Community Involvement Intern

Work alongside the Community Involvement and Fund Development teams to assist in the day-to-day operations by assisting to serve our eight core programs through volunteer recruitment, event implementation and processing in-kind donations and services.

Family Resource Center Intern

Work alongside Family Resource Center Coordinator to assist in the day-to-day operations by helping increase community engagement, partnerships, and resources.

Human Resources Intern

Assist our Human Resources Assistant and our Regional HR Director in handling Human Resource related functions. Exposure to wide range of Human Resource processes. The HR intern will be responsible for all new employee files and filing, database entry for all new hires, assist recruiters with reference checking process, and other duties as assigned.

Availability: Up to 15 hours per week, preferable work days M/W/F between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. There is the intent for the intern to grow into part time employment, up to 24 hours a week.

Residential

Transitional Housing Plus Foster Care (THP+FC) Intern

Will work with residential managers/case workers to provide support for clients aged 18-21 living in the transitional housing program. Duties will include event planning, shadowing case managers, and various administrative tasks. Strong creative and leadership skills, as well as the ability to take initiative, are desired.

Availability: 16 hours a week, Monday-Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends.

Foster and Adoptions

Foster/Adoptions Intern

Will work with foster and adoption case managers and administrative staff to provide support to clients in the foster and adoption program. Duties will include monitored visitations, case management assistance, home visits, child care sessions, special events, training preparation, and various administrative tasks. Experience working with children and current enrollment in internship course are preferred.

Availability: 10-16 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends.

Mental Health

Child Abuse Prevention, Intervention, and Treatment (CAPIT) Intern

The CAPIT case manager Intern will work directly with the clinicians who serve clients in this program. The case manager’s primary responsibility will be to find resources in the community for clients (i.e. work, education, parenting classes, activities, etc.). The case manager intern will provide training to clients that may involve job skills (resume writing, interview tips, how to fill out an application, etc.), budgeting, time management, organization, and other skills that may promote stability and healthier family functioning. The case manager may be asked to help out around the office with tasks such as organizing, creating a resource binder, etc.

Availability: 16 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends.

Safe Families for Children

Mobilization Intern

Will work with the Safe Families for Children team to mobilize host families to work with families in crisis. Duties will include communicating with potential volunteers, home study observations, file management, and various other administrative duties. Strong communication skills are desired.

Availability: 8-12 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends.

Communications and Marketing Intern

Will work with the Safe Families for Children team to develop and strengthen web content, online presence, and social media awareness. Duties will include utilization of social media, research, content writing and editing, and various other administrative tasks. Strong writing and media development skills are desired.

Availability: 8-12 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

Development Intern

Work alongside the Development team to assist in the day-to-day operations by assisting to serve our Orange County regional fund development office. Duties will include social media and administrative support, research, event management and coordination and donor relations.

Operations Intern

Work alongside the National Operations team to assist in research, donor relations, and administrative support. This internship will allow you to learn the basics in the leading non-profit software Raiser’s Edge, how a direct mail program works, how a major fundraising event operates, and the day to day work of a Development department.

Availability: 8-20 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends.

Residential

Kinship Intern

Will work with Kinship staff to provide support to clients and families in the Kinship program. Duties will include assisting with offering program services, referrals, community outreach, child and teen care, and various administrative tasks. Experience in research and working with children are preferred.

Availability: 4-8 hours a week, Wednesday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends.

Safe Families for Children

Mobilization Intern

Will work with administrative staff to provide support to licensed therapists in the Family Preservation department. Duties will include child care, processing referrals, file management, and various other administrative tasks. Strong computer skills and bilingual skills (Spanish and English) are preferred.

Availability: 8-10 hours a week, Tuesday to Thursday and Saturday

Chaplaincy

Chaplaincy Intern

Will work alongside the Chaplain to provide support and assistance to Residential clients and current volunteer chaplains. Duties will include event planning, ministering to clients ages 13-18 within group homes, supporting current volunteer chaplains, and various administrative tasks. Youth ministry experience is desired as well as a willingness to maintain established relationships after the internship is completed.

Availability: 4-10 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends.

Wraparound

Wraparound Intern

With the support of Wraparound Youth Partners, Interns will have the opportunity to participate in the delivery of direct service to youth participating in the wraparound program. Services are delivered in family homes and a variety of other community locations. Youth Partners teach, role model and provide opportunity for the youth to develop pro-social behavior, increased self-confidence, improved family relations and independent living skills.

Availability: minimum of 5 hours to maximum 20 hours per week. Monday – Thursday preferred. Afternoon hours. Approx. 2:00pm – 6:00pm.
