Chaplaincy

Inland Communities

The kids and families we serve are almost always wounded and broken. They need compassion, tenderness, and time to heal and learn. With the Lord’s guidance, our Chaplaincy program has grown to become an integrated aspect of the services that Olive Crest provides – especially to address the spiritual needs of those in our Olive Crest family.

Our Chaplaincy team, together with local churches, donors and individual volunteers, provides many services, events, programs, and relationship opportunities to spread the love of God.

Our Chaplaincy Ministry is designed to encourage an awareness and belief in the God of the Bible throughout Olive Crest by:

  • being an encouragement to Olive Crest staff, volunteers, and children.
  • providing opportunities for the children, teens, and families to learn of God’s love.
  • nurturing an environment of faith and growth in Christ.

Addressing the spiritual and value clarification needs of our youth is our goal. We do this by providing activities and opportunities to encourage them to explore this area of their lives. Participation in this program is always voluntary.

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

What is a Chaplain?

A chaplain, traditionally, is a member of the clergy who provides religious guidance in a non-church setting like the military, a hospital, or prison. Our chaplain serves much like an in-house youth pastor for the youth at Olive Crest who are living in homes where spiritual input would not otherwise be available.

All participation in the opportunities offered by the Chaplaincy program is completely voluntary. We trust God to guide and direct our ministry team to lovingly befriend, encourage, and reach out to everyone in the Olive Crest family.
