Foster Children Benefit from Book Drive

Olive Crest, books, book drive, Pacific Northwest, donations, at-risk children
Reading to children helps greatly in developing their communication and language skills, and also helps heal the lives of at-risk children. Recently, a successful book drive in the Pacific Northwest brought these gifts to Olive Crest foster children. Between individual donors and a donation matching program through Usborne Books & More, children were blessed by $1,800 worth in books. There was also a book drive hosted by Newlife Church (Central Kitsap Campus). A wish list based on the typical ages of kids that come into care was created, so the most beneficial books could be distributed to the children. Supporters could get involved by purchasing a book from the wish list to donate, purchasing a book for themselves, or by donating money. Whichever way people chose to donate, Usborne books matched the value of the donation by 50%.
Thank you to our many generous donors! We are so grateful for you!
