NOVA Educational Programs and Requirements

Educational Programs

NOVA Academy offers students an academically rigorous alternative to "traditional classes," based on the Early College High School Initiative established by the Foundation for California Community Colleges. College preparedness and vocational classes provide support for the student's academic and personal success via instruction and practice in:

• Study Skills Strategies
• Time Management
• Assignment and Grade Reporting
• Tutorial Logs◦College and Career Awareness

 

 

NOVA Requirements

Students are selected for the NOVA Academy based on several criteria. Each will be taken into consideration to identify students who demonstrate that they are motivated for success. Prior to being accepted at NOVA,
applicants must:

• Complete a NOVA Academy Application
• Complete a NOVA Academy Registration Packet
• Sign a student behavior and academic responsibilities contract
• Provide positive behavior reviews from a parent, house parent or case manager
• Obtain an Academic Transcript
• Obtain immunization records
• Complete a district transfer if applicable
